Assessment 2

theory

Modern architecture must consider the contemporary issue of social disconnect.
It should guide and accommodate interactions between inhabitants.
Thus, a bridge must connect spaces and individuals

REAL TIME IMAGES

Near the main gate, the tremendous span of the hanging bridge is beheld.
The span accommodates a design library and floral garden. The extrusion is meant
bridge squarehouse to the crowded walkway. (connecting structure with people)

One arm of the bridge protrudes towards the main gate, proclaiming its presence.
The elongated design of the library not only captures natural light, but also
becomes an excellent vantage point to look over the campus. The library is
intentionally isolated for quietness and privacy.

The library is grounded by a semi-circular supporting wall, which is
furnished into a resting area. This facility is convenient since the
campus gym is in the proximity. Moreover, this is also aimed to stimulate
social engagement outside of the bridge.
Due to space congestion, the bridge had to be designed in two stages.
The first is a more private space, accommodating study rooms and staff offices.
The second is designed as an open space for transparency to context. This is
to emphasize further on the bridge being an extension to the site.

The second stage of the bridge is designed like an avenue. and the highest stage of
bridge. The overall design aims to look unique from different angles. This can be achieved
by having an open roof bridge with buildings instead of rooms. This setup also creates exterior
distinction between different function rooms.
